Zeke is my first Bearded Collie, and the funniest dog I have ever met.
10-month-old Zeke came to live with me at UMass Amherst in my final year of undergrad, from Dunhill Bearded Collies. The plan was to send Zeke back after a few months of training, showing, and socialization, but we quickly fell in love with his gentle demeanor and silly personality, so his people were generous enough to let him stay.
He learned about college life and provided joy and stress relief for the animal science students who adored him, earning CH points and all-breed Best Puppy in Show along the way. The COVID-19 pandemic sent us home from UMass and away from dog shows for many months, but Zeke did not let this time off go to waste; he achieved his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title, the "Advanced" and "Urban" levels of CGC, and his Trick Dog Novice (TKN) title. Zeke earned his AKC Championship (CH) in spring 2021 soon after our arrival on the West Coast, and has since sired a litter of six puppies. He is now retired from conformation, as he is much happier as our companion. Zeke enjoys playing agility, learning nosework, and exploring the trails of the PNW!
